Cognitive Processing Therapy in Lincolnshire
Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) is a psychotherapy that helps people with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) by teaching them to identify and change negative thoughts and beliefs associated with their trauma.
CPT is an evidence-based treatment that has been shown to be effective for a variety of populations, including veterans, sexual assault victims, and refugees. It can be delivered in-person or via telehealth.vCPT sessions are typically 60 to 90 minutes long and usually last about 3 months. The number of sessions required varies from person to person, but most people who complete CPT show a noticeable improvement in their PTSD symptoms. During CPT, you can expect to discuss topics such as:

Challenge stuck points
CPT teaches people to think through their stuck points and consider new, more balanced perspectives.
Develop more adaptive ways of thinking
CPT helps people develop more adaptive ways of understanding and drawing conclusions about the trauma.
- The meaning of the traumatic event(s)

- Safety issues
- Issues of power and control
- Esteem issues
